Promoting Anambra culture and community

We are a nonprofit, apolitical organization dedicated to promoting cultural identity, community service, and civic engagement among Anambra families living in Arizona.

We are incorporated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity under the legal name Anambra Family Association 'AFA' Arizona USA. Our mission is to provide a welcoming home for all Anambra families in Arizona, fostering unity, leadership, and development across generations.

Our Mission.

  • Enhance, encourage, and foster unity and mutual understanding among Anambra indigenes residing in Arizona and beyond.

  • Promote Social, Economic, Cultural, Educational, and recreational activities amongst Anambra indigenes resident in Arizona USA.

  • Offer charitable assistance towards local charity programs/projects, and as well non-local charity programs/projects beyond Arizona borders.

  • Raise funds for charitable outreach programs through tax-deductible donations from donors and members alike.

  • Foster unity and mutual understanding among Anambra families.

  • Encourage good citizenship and professional excellence.

  • Collaborate with other organizations to develop practical solutions to shared challenges.

Meet The Team Behind The Mission

  • Amechi Nwafor , President, Anambra Family Association Arizona

    Amechi Nwafor (Odera), President, AFA

    Amechi is a distinguished professional from Amichi, Anambra State. With a strong academic background, he holds a B.Sc. in Banking & Finance and an MBA, showcasing his commitment to excellence. He is also a Chartered Banker, member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), highlighting his expertise in the financial sector.

    He currently works for American Express, leveraging his skills and experience to contribute to the company's success.

    As a devoted family man, Amechi is married with three lovely daughters, whom he cherishes deeply. His spouse is a vital partner in his life, and together, they nurture their family with love and care.

    Mr Ubeh hails from Nibo,in Awka South Local Government, Anambra State.

    Born in the respected Ojukwu family of Nnewi in Anambra state of Nigeria, a town know for it's industrious spirit and cultural heritage. A man of many strengths, Obinna blends the sharp instincts of a businessman with the discipline of law enforcement and the compassion of a Healthcare professional.His multifaceted Career reflects his dedication to service, community and excellence. Obinna brings integrity, heart and action to everything he does.

    Dr. Ifeanyi Okafor is from Oko, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State. He is a husband, father of two beautiful children and a scientist. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and works in a Fortune 100 technology company as a researcher.

    Calistus Ofodum, Provost

    Calistus Ofodum is happily married to Doris Ofodum, and together they are proud parents of two children, Zara and Andre. Originally from Nigeria, he relocated to the United States with his family in October 2021.

    With 16 years of experience in the banking sector back home, Calistus is now a licensed Financial Planner/Advisor in Arizona. He specializes in helping families secure their futures through college savings plans, retirement strategies, investment planning, estate planning, and insurance solutions.
